So a 10th level Troll Rogue walks into a bar..

Well I'm just about done with the Sam Jackson bottle label I was doing for a friend of mine. It's alright, but it was a good learning process.

I really want to get some more art up. I'm trying to finish writing/story boarding the first issue of Doom-Stone, then it'll go to Trevor for the actual drawings, and we'll see from there.

I'd like to get Level Up really going, but again, I'm not satisfied with the product I'm pumping out (artistically), and have no idea how to get it up on my own site. I mean, I downloaded the word press program, but it makes absolutely no sense to me.

I'm slowly but surely updating EnthreeStudios.com though, trying out banner shapes and sizes and such.

For some personal news, I have been playing WoW for almost two months now. I'm still not sure how I feel. Playing alone kind of sucks. It seems I might be working at a haunt this Halloween too, but we'll see how that goes. I'm gonna run by the card shop up here by school before I go home. I wouldn't mind renting Arkham Asylum either....

Where Have I Been?

Geeze, well since you're asking. School's been keeping me super busy. Nothing I'm super hyped about doing, other than this layout for a Wizard's of The Coast newsletter I did:

This was from last quarter, but I found it and decided to throw it up here.

I've got some stuff I'm working on, but who knows when it'll get finished, what with the rebellion and all. And Halloween and faire coming up. Saw District 9, it was pretty awesome. Just updating is all, hopefully it'll be a little more regularly in a while. I did, however, register doom-stone.com, so that's exciting. Anyway, til next time...

Today it started raining...

My schedule's been kinda goofy lately. Haven't had too much time to do much, just the occasional in class personal project. I'll explain these a bit more later. They're not really done, just kind of in progress....

Back to School

Well, that was a quick three weeks of summer vay-cay. Back to the old grindin' mill. Yup. Not much new tha- ok, I gave in and started playing W0W. I'm sorry. Ok? Don't judge me. Leave the judgin' to Jesus and Judy, that's what I always say. Sometimes. Anyway, I threw this together in class, while we were going over the syllabus and what not:

I also did some sketching in a few classes during the mandatory "git sitchuate" phase. As I've been reading "The Hobbit" again, I figured I'd do an imagining of Gollum. It turned out to be the sketch I like most in that drawing pad.

Then a concept character for "The Soul Patch":

Other Things on my plate to get done are:

1) Label concept for a friend's Pulp Fiction themed beer

2) A logo design for a 20's flapper themed ball here in town.

3) Build a Chupacabra monster for a short film I wanna shoot.

Oh, and I need some cash. Checks are fine also.

Keepin' busy in the summer

I'm officially on summer break from the Art Institute. I mean, sure, i'm still working, but my days off are actually days off now. I'm trying to keep busy, creatively at least. Still haven't finished Crackdown or Windwaker, but I'm pumping out some material. Last week I made whip cream from scratch, and last night I stitched a tunic. But as far as art-art goes (the general basis of this blog), I got this stuff done.

For one, I've been wanting to do some painting. I was really influenced by the painting of Jim Darkmagic by Mike (Gabe) from Penny-Arcade when he did it, and I've been wanting to do some Haunted Mansion portraits lately. My buddy Sean did some painting a while back for the Toy Joy art show, and while I also started to paint something for that, I never finished. Anyway, today I went to the art store, and picked up some basic oil paints and canvas board stuff. Here's the first go, as it sits now:

I also conceptualized and directed Toy Joy's first ever commercial, of which I'm kinda proud. So check that out. Like now.

And finally, I've got a project up my sleeve I've talked to several friends about. It's not quite ready, but here's something that I made for it:

The Hero of Canton, A Man They Call Jayne

Let's see, so I finally watched all of Firefly,
which led me to go rent Serenity. I know i'm like five years too late, but now I'm kinda sore the show went off the air. I really started getting into it, especially the episodes "Jaynetown" and "Our Mrs. Reynolds".

Got to workin' on my webcomic, "Level Up" again. I had to move it to drunkduck.com, because Comic Genesis was not working at all for me. Oh well.

And Enthreestudios.com is getting done, slowly but surely. Check it out every once in a while.

Just a Quick Update

Thought I'd throw up some more work from school. Saw "Drag Me To Hell". If you're an "Evil Dead" fan you'll probably dig it. And we've been playing alot of 4th Edition lately. The group still seems kind of divided about how they feel about it. I'll try and put up another podcast if I can. Trying to get the comic started again, but who knows. I've got three strips inked that need to be scanned and colored. It's that whole coloring thing that gets me. Anyways, here's that school work, in the style of "Shag"...
