It's Almost Time For Games

Just finished poppin' out a flyer for n3 Game Fest 2010, the fifth anniversary of gaming parties that started in 2005. Back then, I was a fragile youngling, and learned of Winter-een-mas from Tim Buckley over at Ctrl-Alt-Del. That year, I made a crown and celebrated at Lan's Edge, a, now defunct, lan center we used to frequent. The following year I threw my first at home gaming bash. Each year a few more people come, and it's usually a little better. I'm hoping to get a finalized tournament bracket system going, with actual start times, so we can organize a little better. Anyhoo, here's the poster, check it out:

Mock Box

We had to design some packaging for the Whataburger kid's meals. I went with something more along the lines of the chicken tender boxes, and designed them to be monsters. Wee fun. Waiting now for the designer they're bringing in to come so he can tear me a new one...

como se dice.... slawsome?

tonight i rewatched the entire two seasons of legend of neil, then got through the first season, and half of the second, of the guild (again). i am currently one episode four of mad men, and i'm digging that. i like the style of the 60s, especially with Saul Bass kind of being an influence as of late, and the martini vibe of it all. while i was farting around on some home work, i threw this together, just cause, and was mostly pleased with it.

still hangin' in there...

Happy Birthday Travis

So my room mate's birthday is today, so we're watching a buncha football. However, there was one shot of the crowd, in which I noticed two oddly dressed fellows. They had that Tom Landry suit and hat look, but they were extremely serious looking. I noticed, and pointed it out, but didn't think much of that. However, a while later, I saw an ad for the Fox show "Fringe", and the stadium fellows were the center of this week's episode. Something about them being there throughout history. I nearly flipped my lid, I LOVE viral marketing stuff. It makes me want to give that show a chance, honestly. If I find out more, I'll let you know.

Anyway, last night we watched the gentleman's boxing match, and our boy Pacquiao won. My friend said he wanted a shirt, so I whipped this up real quick. Now if I could only find a cheap way to produce a small number of shirts....

Halloween has come and gone...

Hey folks, now that the holiest of holidays is out of the ways, I can start posting some more work. This is just a couple of things I did for school that I thought looked more finalized than everything else.

First off, a layout mock up for the fictional "Science Today", with a center spread on Thaddeus Venture.

Some mock up bags for Whole Foods trying to promote reusable bags.

And something I doodled at work, and thought it was kinda funny...This week I'm working on the logo for our class' newly named "Skull Storm Studios" (which is the name I nominated....), and hopefully a book cover for "Alice in Wonderland" for a contest they're having here at school. Let's see if I can get all that done on top of everything else I've got due. Anyhoo, later.
